It isn't really childish, it's what you know. I was very close minded when I was your age too. I don't like to admit it, but it's true. My best advice to you, if you wanted to expand your point of view is to either a. get a part time job, you'll learn more about other people, more about responsibility, and more about money management. Start building your resume early because it looks good for colleges and future jobs to see what you've experienced. or b. Start doing some volunteer work, also looks great for colleges but also feels really good when you know you're making a difference in someone else's life. You start to see the needs of others and understand that you aren't the only one who hurts. You also build lasting friendships and find mentors along the way. If you can do one or even both of these, I think you'll start to see what life is really all about. Don't worry about "growing up" yet, you'll do that all too quickly. Just expand your way of thinking as a teenager. You can be young and free willed while still being mature and respectful.
